Utility of Beast Mastery Hunter in Dragonflight
Interrupts, Stuns and StopsOther Utility
6.1.
Interrupts, Stuns and Stops
Counter Shot is your "kick" and your most important bit of utility inMythic+, used to stop enemy casts for the benefit of the group and especiallythe tank. It is highly recommended to use a Focus Kick macro for this.
- /stopcasting
- /stopcasting
- /cast [@focus,exists,nodead][@mouseover,exists,nodead] [] Counter Shot
This macro will kick your focus target if you have one, mouseover if you haveno Focus target, and your target if you have neither of those.
To quickly set a focus target in hectic scenarios, we also recommend aFocus Mouseover macro.
- /focus [@mouseover]
Make sure that your UI shows your Focus Target's casts clearly, so that youare always able to kick it on cooldown, or in coordination with the rest of yourgroup.
7.
Stunning and "Stops"
Intimidation is your second-most important utility and is your"stop" for negating casts that cannot be normally interrupted. We recommendusing this in the same way as your Counter Shot, with the same macro (withIntimidation swapped in for Counter Shot, of course).
Binding Shot can be used to save your tank in hectic moments byhelping him kite mobs and generate some range.
Freezing Trap can be used as an additional stop alongside Intimidation, but it has a slow travel time and you will need to beclose to land it before most stunnable casts are finished.
Scatter Shot (mutually exclusive with Binding Shot) can beused as an additional stop alongside Intimidation and Freezing Trap, but you have to bewithin 20 yards of the mob you are stopping. It will also remove any DoTs like Barbed Shot, giving it a small DPS cost.
7.1.
Other Utility
Feign Death can not only be used to drop aggro, but also negatecertain casts and channels on you. In some cases, these mechanics will simplyre-target someone else in the group, but occasionally the mechanic will beentirely negated with huge benefits. If you notice a cast or effect on you, tryto Feign Death it!
Tranquilizing Shot can negate beneficial Enrage and Magic effectsfrom enemytargets, and with the Improved Tranquilizing Shot Talent, we do not losemeaningful damage from doing so.
Tar Trap can be used to aid your tank in kiting by slowing mobs.

Dungeon Tips for Beast Mastery Hunter in Dragonflight
Atal'DazarBlack Rook HoldDarkheart ThicketDawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's FallDawn of the Infinite: Murozond's RiseThe EverbloomThrone of the TidesWaycrest Manor
9.1.
Bosses
- Rezan: You can Feign Death the Pursuit. Waituntil til the channel has started and be at distance, then Feign Death.
- Yazma: You can Aspect of the Turtle-clear the Spidersmid-fight to make things easier to manage/dodge. You can Feign Death the WrackingPain (though it will re-target) or Aspect of the Turtle to prevent it entirely.
9.2.
Trash
- Juggernauts: Pre-place Freezing Trap and Binding Shot between you and them, and they will not finish their charge and do damage. Alternatively, justconstantly move (annoying) while at max range.
- Colossus: You can Feign Death the Soulburn channel (wait until the channelhas started).
9.3.
Bosses
- Amalgam: You can Feign Death Soul Echoes and Swirling Scythe, but they will re-target.
- Illysanna: You can Feign Death Brutal Glaive, but it will re-target. You can also Aspect of the Turtle it to prevent the bleed from applying.
- Smashspite: You can Aspect of the Turtle-soak the Hateful Gaze for someone or yourself. It will not prevent the debuff.
- Dantalionax: You can Feign Death the Stinging Swarm, but it will re-target. You can also Aspect of the Turtle to prevent it, which has big value if your Healer is falling behind.
9.4.
Trash
- Lady Velandras: You can Feign Death the Glaive Toss, but it will re-target.
- Risen Archer: They jump to players before during Arrow Barrage. You can pre-Trap your feet to prevent the Barrage! You can also pre- Binding Shot them.
- Oakheart: If you Disengage roughly 0.5s before the Crushing Grip cast ends, you will not take any damage.
- Dresaron: Pet positioning is annoying if you want to cleave Whelps. It helps to mouseover- Barbed Shot the whelps to launch your pet over there for some cleave value, but your pet will constantly reset its position behind the boss and out of whelp range.
- Shade of Xavius: You can Feign Death the Feed on the Weak channel, big value!.
9.6.
Trash
- Frenzied Nightclaw: You can Freezing Trap your feet/ Binding Shot them to prevent their bleed when they leap to you. Use Exhil to get above 90% for the bleed.
- Rotheart Keeper: It is wiser for dungeon speed to single-target these, since AoE is useless until they die.
9.7.
Bosses
- Blight of Galakrond: If Corossive Infusion is on you, you can Feign Death it and cancel the entire mechanic, but you have to be quick. One of the best value Feigns in M+!
- Iridikron: Do not forget to Hunter's Mark, it is insane value here. Use cooldowns the moment you get the Haste buff to get some non-Shield DPS value as well. You can Death Chakram/ Bestial Wrath on pull. You can Feign Death the Extinction Blast and prevent its damage and DoT. Just stay Feigned until the cast ends (the visual will remain).
9.8.
Trash
- Infinite Timeslicer: Remember to Tranquilizing Shot the Temposlice channel. If it is on you, you can Feign Death it!
- Infinite Chronoweaver: You can Feign Death the Chronomelt Channel on you.
- Timestream Leech: Remember to Tranquilizing Shot Enervate if it goes off!
- Coalesced Time: If you Aspect of the Turtle the expiration of Chronoburst, it does not spawn adds.
9.9.
Bosses
- Morchie: Freezing Trap your Add near the center of the room (so that you will not break it when going to the bosses to the sides). When new Traps spawn later in the fight, it will probably land on the add and get you an easy 1-stack. Keep Freezing Trapping your add near the center of the room. If it breaks, Binding Shot/ Intimidation/kite to not add stacks to the debuff. Pre-Trap for the next fixate.
- Chrono-Lord Deios: Hold your opener cooldown for the first Infinite Keeper add spawn, it will tend to overlap with the 2nd one. Boss damage matters relatively little in P1. If you will only get 1 cooldown in P2, save it for the giga Haste buff at the end, at around 8% HP.
9.10.
Trash
- Spurlok: You can Aspect of the Turtle its cast in place of a quick interrupt.
- Pendule: You can Feign Death the Beam casts from this.
9.11.
Bosses
- Witherbark: Barbed Shot mouseover the lasher adds that spawn to ensure your pet is cleaving them. Pet aggro can be an issue here, so Exhil your pet if needed, or yell at your tank.
9.12.
Trash
- Rockspine Stinger: Stay at max range from these mobs, and keep moving. They will miss you when they jump, saving a lot of damage. Similar to Atal'Dazar Juggernauts but these move faster, so you need more range. You can also Freezing Trap/Binding between you and the pack to stop them sooner. The same as above goes for the Melded Berserker, though you do not need as much distance.
- Twisted Abomination: If you Feign Death (and stay Feigned) roughly 0.75s before the Noxious Eruption cast goes off, you will not take any damage and will not gain the DoT. One of the best Feigns in M+. You can do this on every 2nd cast.
- Gnarlroot: You can Disengage the Roots, but it will not be up for every set of Roots. I prefer to Disengage>Stoneform(Dwarf)>Disengage>Turtle>Pray for Jesus.
- Infested Icecaller: You can Disengage the Frostbolt debuff since it is a slow.
9.13.
Bosses
- Ozumat: Use Barbed Shot mouseover on adds when they spawn to make your pet charge to them and cleave from them. Do not actually target the adds, just target the boss and let your pet cleave them down, using Barbed Shot to place them on the mobs.
9.14.
Trash
- Vicious Snap Dragon: Binding Shot them before they charge out and apply Bleeds to people, and to keep them in melee.
- Naz'jar Sentinel: You can Aspect of the Turtle the Crushing Depths cast. You can also Feign Death it to put it on someone who can more easily heal through it, but always Aspect of the Turtle first.
- Naz'jar Ravager: If you have lightning-quick Disengage reflexes, you can avoid Acid Barrage. It is easier to find an LoS spot though.
- Faceless Seer: You can Feign Death the Mind Flay to cancel the channel.
9.15.
Bosses
- Sisters: You can Aspect of the Turtle the Jagged Nettles application, or Feign Death it to another target.
- Soulbound Goliath: You can use petattack on the Thorns when you are in it to get some damage off.
- Raal: You can Feign Death the "Rotten Expulsion" frontal/AoE/add spawn entirely when its on you. You can also pre-Trap the doorway to the right to stop an add permanently.
- Lord/Lady: You can Feign Death the Virulent Pathogen cast entirely when it's on you. .
9.16.
Trash
- Heartsbane Runeweaver: You can Feign Death "Etch" when it is on you. Super high value Feign.
- Pallid Gorger: You can pre-Trap your feet and Binding Shot them to prevent their bleed as they jump out.

Affix Guide for Beast Mastery Hunter in Dragonflight
Affix: AfflictedAffix: IncorporealAffix: EntanglingAffix: StormingAffix: SpitefulAffix: RagingAffix: BolsteringAffix: BurstingAffix: Sanguine
11.1.
Afflicted Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter has no way of dealing with the AfflictedAffix, as it has no friendly dispel. The best you can do is remind yourteammatesto do it.
11.2.
Incorporeal Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter is well-equipped to deal with Incorporeal. You can pre- Freezing Trap one of the circles that spawn, and then use Scare Beast (Talent) on another and solo the affix every time.
11.3.
Entangling Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter can use Disengage to immediately break and move out of Entangling, thanks to our Posthaste Talent.
11.4.
Storming Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter is fully mobile, and can run around andintentionally soak the Storming tornados and help your group not have to dealwith them, since other Ranged are usually movement-limited, and melee do notwant to risk being knocked out of melee range.
11.5.
Spiteful Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter can use Binding Shot and Tar Trap to best deal with Spiteful Shades. Consider speccing into Entrapment to make your Tar Trap even more useful for this.
11.6.
Raging Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter has Tranquilizing Shot to deal with Raging. We do not recommend spamming it mindlessly, but instead it helps toknow which mobs need CC in a pack and preparing to enrage-dispel those whenthey hit 30% HP.
11.7.
Bolstering Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter has nothing special to deal with Bolstering, but it is extremely important to always be hitting the highest HPtarget in a pack on Bolstering weeks. We highly recommend this WeakAura to help mark out this target inhectic situations.
11.8.
Bursting Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter can use Aspect of the Turtle when a lot of mobs are dying to preventstacks of Bursting being applied.
11.9.
Sanguine Affix Management for Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter can use High Explosive Trap (Talent) to knock mobs out of Sanguine and reposition them.

When choosing your trinkets, we recommend simulating yourself onRaidbots Top Gear or Gear Compareusing the DungeonSlice Fight Style to roughly simulate a Mythic+ dungeon.
