About Our Client

Blue Solutions is a value-adding distributor, whose activities are organized across two core divisions: Pool Care and Waste Water Care. Together, they are responsible for 30 million euros in sales, with the largest part of the revenue coming from the Netherlands. Pool Care consists of chemical water treatment products for public and private pools, as well as the actual selling and installing of pools, saunas, and infra-red cabins. Blue Solutions operates under the brands Melspring and Interhiva.Waste Water Care focuses on tailor-made chemical waste water treatments, for industrial, agricultural, and public contexts.The Pool Care division offers a complete line of chemical water treatment products for public and private swimming pools and spas under brand name Melspring. It distributes a full range of premium chlorine products, pH stabilizers, flocculants, anti-algae, and cleaning products, as well as pool accessories for water analysis and maintenance. Under the brand name Interhiva (further split into Interhiva Retail and Interhiva Projects), the division also distributes pools, spas, and saunas on a turnkey basis, including the installation service. The globally sourced products are primarily sold in a B2B market, through an extensive supply and distribution network, underpinned by long-standing relationships. The group also sells products directly online through their own ecommerce channel.Blue Solutions is located in the Netherlands, but the company is active on several continents, with the bulk of the business in Germany, the Benelux, and Scandinavia. Supply and sourcing holds a global scope, from Asia to Eastern Europe to the United States. With the majority share held by a private equity fund, there is a mandate to refresh the company's strategy through three pillars: 1) capitalizing on the team's expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative solutions; 2) accelerating activities in the horticulture sector; and 3) implementing a targeted external growth policy to consolidate Blue Solutions' positions and enter adjacent markets.

Job Description

  • Coordinates the tasks of the commercial & technical service support staff for whom support and solving sales-related customer problems are central (return portal, warranty, parts, building instruction, parts, spare parts and repairs. Efficient planning of service engineers
  • Focuses on optimal execution of the expedition/warehouse activities and the related administration
  • Manages the warehouse/expedition in such a way that the goods can be delivered to the customer on time, at optimal conditions, within the agreed timeline
  • Ensures optimal cooperation with Inside Sales and Purchasing
  • Ensures optimal staffing with regard to head of warehouse/shipping department (expedition) and adequate resources to be able to perform the work. Determine priorities, indentifies problems and solving them
  • Identifies opportunities or is approached to optimize work processes within Blue Solutions PoolCare and between departments, or make them more efficient and effective, improve quality and reduce structural costs
  • Ensures an action plan with planning and budget in terms of time, staffing, budget and quality. (Re)defines a question of assignment, makes proposals for the approach and generates ideas
  • Maps out the investment and monitors costs and deadlines. Develops, optimizes and implements work processes in coordination with managers
  • Performs administrative and organizational work in the areas of:
  • Recruitment
  • Sick leave counseling
  • Occupational health and safety legislation
  • Consults with Financial Administrator about administrative handling of appointment and termination of employment and other matters regarding staff and salary administration
  • Compiles management information
  • Prepares standard reports with deviation analyzes and improvement proposals
  • Provides input for the annual plan
  • Is co-responsible for forecasting and monitoring budgets.

The Successful Applicant

  • Higher education (operations, logistics)
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience, also in a management position
  • Strong process oriented & capable of optimalisation (logistics, ERP etc)
  • Affinity with the wellness and swimming pool industry is a plus
  • Dutch and English language in word and writing. German is an advantage
  • Never loses sight of business interest and has vision
  • Proactive and can act cost-consciously
  • Result-oriented and realistic
  • Social and communicative skills for maintaining internal and external contacts
  • Empathy, organizational sensitivity, commercial insight
  • Can cooperate with different cultures
