Creating a Movie Night Snack Board is a fantastic family night idea to enjoy all your favorite snacks like fresh fruits, cheeses, crackers, popcorn and candy while watching the newly released Dolittle DVD!

Life has been different for everyone this past 6 weeks or so with homeschooling in place, sports cancelled and almost everything shut down. We refuse to stop our family weekend fun though! I decided we needed a movie night unlike any other with an over the top Movie Night Snack Board and an awesome new movie to lift our spirits and have some good laughs.

Dolittle DVD

The Dolittle DVD takes you on a heart-warming adventure through personal loss, friendship, exploration and finding your place in the world. What makes this movie so entertaining and fun is Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Dolittle and his special relationship with animals. Dr. Dolittle can literally talk to the animals and understand them like no other human can which creates this amazing bond between him and some great animal characters you will be introduced to. The animals all have their own personalities and the whole family will have their favorites by the end of the movie. Dolittle is the perfect movie for family night that all ages will love.

Find the Dolittle DVD at your local Walmart while picking up all your necessities on your weekly grocery trip. You can also try the Walmart pickup service from walmart.com for convenient shopping!

Movie Night Snack Board

Movie Night Snack Board has a mixture of flavors and textures. From crunchy to chewy, sweet to salty and everything in-between. There is a little something for everyone! Feel free to swap ingredients on the board to cater to families personal favorites.

Creating Your Movie Night Snack Board

A great snack board will have lots of options with multiple colors, textures and flavors. Pick a couple salty items, some sweet treats, something healthy and fresh and cheeses for a complete board. To keep with the fun of the Dolittle DVD, tray and find foods that are animal inspired with animal shapes or something a particular animal loves to eat.

  • Salty : Peanuts, popcorn, pretzels, crackers and cheddar baked fish crackers.
  • Sweet : cinnamon teddy baked graham crackers, gummy bears, chocolate candies, caramel corn, licorice, chocolate covered animal crackers.
  • Fresh : Strawberries, grapes and slices apples.
  • Cheese : A mix of cheddar and Swiss slices to pair with the crackers.

Begin my finding a large serving tray. If you do not have a large tray, you can use bowls and a serving platter. Clean the bottom of the tray well and add parchment paper to the bottom for easy clean up. Add a few bowls to start and fill with some goodies and then spread the cheese around the bowls. From there, just fill the tray with your remaining ingredients placing them into groups for easy snacking.
